Dairy, gluten, and skin health
Dairy, eggs, and gluten are not inherently bad for you or your skin. If you have specific GI imbalances that cause you to react to these foods then you are either allergic, intolerant, or have an autoimmune disease (less common), or those imbalances can be fixed and your body should be able to process them without problem.
Either way, you need to be properly assessed, diagnosed and treated. Taking out entire foods groups from your diet based on an article, reel, or hear/say is not a path to healing.
What’s truer—
By-products such as glyphosate in gluten and added hormones and antibiotics in dairy can cause problems that may lead to skin issues. This is why prioritizing quality and quantity is key. Additionally, your GI tract and detox pathways need to be in good standing to be able to contain and eliminate toxins, invaders, and by-products efficiently.
We have consumed milk, bread, and eggs since the beginning of time. It is our modern-day over burdened bodies that have changed.
It is most likely your skin disorder has to do with blood sugar and cortisol spikes, nutrient deficiencies, GI tract imbalances, and sluggish detox pathways mixed with genetic predisposition and being caught in a recurring injury skin state.
The supportive nutrients in these foods groups—
Eggs— protein, B vitamins, vitamin D, zinc, selenium, iron, and antioxidants
Dairy— balanced macronutrient ratio of protein, fat, and carb, vitamin D, calcium, potassium, electrolytes
Whole grains— fiber, slow burn carb, B vitamins, magnesium, selenium, iron
Foods that do negatively impact the skin inflammation cycle—
— Processed sugary foods and drinks
— Fried foods and diet high in seed oils
— High caffeine and/or alcohol intake
— Refined carbs as main source of energy
